Open Microsoft Internet Explorer and from the 'Tools' menu select 'Internet Options'. The 'Tools' menu is the fifth menu option on your Web browser tool bar following File, Edit, View, and Favorites

'Bypass proxy server for local addresses' is selected if you are accessing network resources through a intranet. When complete, select OK twice.
